Type 439 GK Handlamp



A general-purpose handlamp supplied without cord. The section of the flexible cable shall be 2 x 1,5 mm². An earth lead is not required because of the double insulation method of construction. The body is formed from durable hard rubber. The wire guard is made from galvanised steel which locks against a diecast aluminium ring. The E27 lampholder is (Ex) d rated.

Cable: The factory recommends a 11mm diameter cable type H07RN-F2 x 1,5 mm², or an equivalent local cable of a flame retardent, self-extinguishing neoprene type.

Lamps: Rough Service E27. Only lamps which comply to DIN 49810-HT or IEC 60061-1 may be used.

Enclosures are divided into the following main groups -

Group I For use underground in mines i.e. for use in the presence of methane (fire damp);

Group II For use above ground and subdivided according to their suitability for use in atmospheres containing specific gases and vapours as shown in the following table.

Industrial methane includes methane mixed with not more than 10% (v/v) of hydrogen.

Town gas may contain not more the 57% (v/v) of hydrogen and not more than 16% (v/v) of carbon monoxide, the remainder being a mixture of paraffin hydrocarbons and inert gas.
